Ohaneze Igbo Women Organization in collaboration with Ezumezu Ndigbo Women Organization Worldwide on Tuesday endorsed the Accord candidate, Dr Godwin Maduka for the November 6 governorship election.
The declaration of the groups was contained in a speech delivered by the President General, Ohaneze Igbo Women Organization, Chief Hon Mrs Calista Nkiru Adimachukwu at Dr Godwin Maduka Campaign Organization Center, Awka.
“Over the years, we have observed with keen interest in the trends and dynamics of politics and leadership in the Igbo land. The Almighty God has empowered each and everyone of us as leaders in various capacities. However, what differentiates us is how we make use of our power and authority, and also the level of impact we make in people’s lives.
“As the election in Anambra State draws closer, we are reminded that it’s time to direct the future of Anambra State to the path of greatness.
“Ohanaeze Igbo Women Organization Worldwide and Ezumezu Ndigbo Organization Worldwide have always advocated for good governance and we know the importance of having the right person steering the wheel of governance. That is the reason we carefully did our research and we came to the conclusion that Dr. Godwin Maduka is the right governorship candidate.” She pointed out.
The groups described the Accord candidate, Dr. Godwin Maduka as a visionary who rose to the top through hard work, determination, foresight and faith in God noting that he has single handedly put his town Umuchukwu on the map through many life impactful projects encompassing infrastructure, education, health and security. He has dedicated his life to uplifting people in Anambra State and beyond.
“What he has done for his people with his personal resources, no other person has ever done it in Nigeria or in Africa. Most times, few well meaning individuals have used government’s resources to fund infrastructural development, but over the years, Dr. Godwin Maduka has used his hard earned money to single handedly construct all the roads in his town, built hospitals, medical research centre, churches, police station, high court, and personal residence for numerous families, among other things. He carried out these projects without expecting anything in return. Hence, he has proved to be an initiator, an innovator, and an indomitable executor.
“If there is any governorship candidate capable of taking Anambra State to the next level, it is Dr. Godwin Maduka and no one else. I have no doubt that the impact Dr. Godwin Maduka will bring to Anambra State would be greater than what we have ever seen.
“On that note, we the Ohanaeze Igbo Women Organization Worldwide in conjunction with Ezumezu Ndigbo Women Organization Worldwide endorses Dr. Godwin Maduka as our candidate in the upcoming governorship election in Anambra State. We urge all the women in Anambra State to put aside sentiment and party affiliations and come out en masse to vote for Dr. Godwin Maduka of Accord Party.
