The Labour Party(LP) standard bearer in the November 8 Anambra State governorship election, Chief George Moghalu has described peddlers of his party’s collapse to African Democratic Congress (ADC) as cowards being threatened by LP’s strength and popularity in the state.

He made this assertion yesterday during the inauguration of George Moghalu/Ifeoma Okaro Campaign Council Organization.
Chief Moghalu asserted that the ADC coalition remained only in 2027 general elections.

He said, “There’s no iota of truth in the rumour. It’s being circulated by those threatened by the strength, popularity and acceptability of LP in the state.
“When the propaganda first started that our leader, Peter Obi has left Labour, he refuted it, assuring he’ll campaign for the party. He even promised to be present during our Friday campaign rally in Onitsha.
“The coalition is only in 2027 general elections. The rumour peddlers are afraid and looking for where to hang their jackets. And that’s how to know parties with unpopular candidates.”
While inaugurating the campaign council, Moghalu thanked members for agreeing to work with him, stressing that to whom much is given, much is expected.
He added, “This election is not a tea party. It’s not a game you play carrying snuff in your hands. Removing an incumbent, even the lame we have now is not an easy task.
“Some said it’s impossible, but I said it’s possible because it has happened before. Incumbent has been defeated both in this state and outside the state.
“But we must understand that elections are won at the polling units and not at the state capital. And that’s where our capacity will be tested.
The Director General(DG) of the Campaign Organisation, Okey Chukwuogo assured that Moghalu becoming the governor of the state would become reality through the unity of the members.
On his part, the Anambra State Chairman idemili g LP,.Ugochukwu Emeh said the selected members were chosen based on their capacity, noting that Chief Moghalu is spiritually, physically and financially prepared to clinch victory on November 8.
