Anambra LGA Polls: Group sets to mobilize support for APGA

From Ifeoma Ejiofor

Ahead the LGA polls, Association of Anambra State Integrated Indigenes(ASAII) has perfected plans to embark on grassroots rally in the 21 LGAs of the state with a view to mobilizing eligible voters for All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the polls.

The National President of the association, Hon.Ferguson Ogbonnaya Okpara disclosed this when he led some officers of the association on a familiarization visit to the Transition Committee(TC) Chairman of Njikoka LGA.

Hon. Okpara who was a national Youth Leader of APGA, briefed the chairman on the activities and programmes of the association in Anambra state, noting that the group is targeting twelve thousand voters for APGA in the September 28 polls and 2025 guber election.

He pointed out that the association has started harmonizing the list of eligible voters in the state by producing two different forms that contained the names of the card carrying members of the association in the state as well as their bio-data.

“We are now ready to ensure that our members are all eligible voters who have voting rights at the polls, our bio-data form will bear the names of our duly recognized members, addresses, states of origin, home towns, places of resident, name of their landlords and occupations for easy identification and others,” he said.

The TC Chairman for Njikoka LGA, Barr. Dominic Ononiba while welcoming the group described their programmes and activities as laudable.

He said that the production of comprehensive lists of non-indigenes in Anambra State by the association through her bio-data form would no doubt help in a greater measure in achieving the political and security goals of Gov Charles Soludo.

Barr Ononiba tasked the leadership of the association to extend their tentacles to the ward level in the state even as he expressed his preparedness to fully support their activities in Njikoka LGA.
