The South East Editor of Authority Newspaper, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu (Phd) on Friday emerged the chairman of Anambra State council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Odogwu polled 110 votes to defeat hard fighting Abuchi Onwumelu of Fides Newspaper who polled 103.
Ngozie Obineli of Anambra Broadcasting Service got143 vote to defeat her opponent Beatrice Onuchukwu who got 73 votes.
Candidates for other positions were returned unopposed.
The chairman of the electoral committee, Sir Victor Agusiogbo while announcing the winners commended the members of NUJ for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the election.
The Anambra State NUJ chairman, Odogwu Emeka Odogwu in his acceptance speech commended the electoral committee for doing a thorough job.
He also applauded the members of the Anambra State council of NUJ for the confidence reposed in him and others elected into various positions.
Odogwu reassured that his administration would run an open door policy in which every member would have opportunity to contribute to the betterment of the union.
He urged his opponent, Abuchi Onwumelu and others that lost out in the election that to join him in the bid to build a virile union.
