Anambra robbers meet waterloo in Lagos, 1 dead, another arrested, others flee with bullet wounds


A gang of robbers who snatched a car at gunpoint in Anambra State has met its waterloo in Lagos as one of them was shot dead, one arrested and others flee with bullet injuries .

Also, the stolen car was recovered while the police have declared manhunt on the fleeing gang members.

The suspects were accosted by by the Zone 2 Police Command Onikan, Lagos, in a hotel at Ikorodu .
Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, ZPPRO,

Zone 2 Command headquarters Onikan Lagos, SP Hauwa Idris Adamu, in a statement, said,
“On September, 22 ,2023 intelligence gathered by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Ari Mohammed Ali, had it that a gang of robbers/car snatchers stole a black Toyota Highlander SUV, at gunpoint from a victim somewhere in Anambra State, and the vehicle was moved to Lagos for sales..

The AIG detailed operatives of the Zonal Raider Unit, to discretely investigate and confirm the veracity of the information, hence the suspected robbers/car snatchers were trailed to BE HAPPY HOTEL, Ita-Maga, Ikorodu, Lagos, where the snatched vehicle was to be disposed.

Upon sighting the police operatives, the suspected robbers engaged the Operatives in gun duel where one Udoye Sochukwu Kosi( a.k.a. Daddy Seth),who sustained a bullet wound was later confirmed dead by a doctor and the remains were deposited at the morgue.

“One Ugomsinachi Maxwell ,was arrested unhurt and two other suspects escaped with varying bullet wounds, while one unregistered Black Toyota Highlander 2003 Model was recovered.

“The arrested suspect , Maxwell, is an indigene of Enugu State, who resides at Ejigbo Lagos, when interrogated, he claimed he only know one of the fleeing suspects, Chidera ,whi he knew as a truck-pusher at Ladipo Spare Parts Market sometime in the year 2022.

“Further investigation revealed that Maxwell, had been previously arrested for unlawful possession of fire-arms sometime in April, 2023.Investigation is ongoing, while efforts are making efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects”.

Your caption “Anambra robbers” is the height of irresponsible journalism. All you could do is to caption a bad story with a state name. Incredible! Ethnic insensitiviy.

This is in addition to all the half backed information you publish as news story. Not well research stories and two sentences story you publish.
