Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has on Wednesday released the 2024 Local Government Council elections’ timetable.
The timetable was contained in a statement signed by the Çhairman of ANSIEC, Genevieve C. Osakwe, made available to journalists.
Following the announcement and release of elections’timetable, the commission said it would hold interactive session with State Chairmen of political parties on Thursday 15th August.
Osakwe said, “Parties are to notify the commission of the dates and venue of wards and LGA nomination exercise on August 22nd. Submission of political parties agents is on 24th August.
“Submission of political parties’ register of members in the State at the commission’s headquarters, Awka in soft and hard copies on 27th August, parties’ nomination exercise 24th-27th August. Collection of ANSIEC nomination forms 28th August.
“Final day for the submission of names of nominated candidates to the commission by political parties is 3rd September, publication of duly nominated candidates is August 16th.
“Electioneering campaigns by political parties commences on September 11th, final date for submission of substituted candidates by political parties is September 16th. Commission’s publication of final list of candidates and their personal data is 17th September.
“Electioneering campaigns end on 26th September, election day 28th September, rerun elections within five days of election.”
