Transport operators literarily locked down the commercial town of Onitsha Monday, as they held a solidarity rally in support of Gov Charles Soludo reelection bid.
The endorsement rally which held at Ikpeazu Stadium Onitsha in Onitsha North LGA saw transporters trooping out in their good numbers from the 21 council areas to be part of the epoch making event.

In his welcome address, the chairman of the occasion, Chief GUO Okeke, represented by Chief Nelson Enendu, thanked the governor for the great job he is doing.
He pointed out that the communities under siege before Gov Soludo came on board have been liberated so that transport operators can now work in the affected areas.
The Managing Director (MD) of Ocha Brigade,Chief Celestine Anaere in his own comment said that It’s being long they made up their minds to return Gov Soludo in the November 8 guber polls,
He said as a matter of fact that commercial drivers who are operating across the State have willingly decided to Gov Soludo’s foot soldiers in all 5720 polling units on November 8.
“Solution continues, the drivers have made up their minds to vote for Soludo. We have over two thousand staffers whose votes for the incumbent governor are non negotiable,” he said.
In his speech, the Mayor of Onitsha North LGA, Chief Hon Tony Nwora while welcoming Gov Soludo and his entourage to the council area said emphatically that Onitsha belongs to Soludo because he has always been interested in Onitsha.
He said that the endorsement rally put together by transporters is a tip of the iceberg of the ‘Mother of all’ endorsement being planned for Gov Soludo in the commercial town.
The President General (PG) of Solution Marshall, Chief Chukwuma Otubelu in his own speech applauded the incumbent governor for the great job he is doing in the state
“We thank Soludo because whatever program and project hie.administration is bringing on board, Ebonyi people are the major beneficiaries.Our vehicles are now operating effectively without going for compulsory daily or weekly maintenance occasioned by bad roads before he came on y.” He stressed.
The Leader of Okada operators, Hon Elvis Okolie assured Gov Soludo of three thousand, seven hundred and fifty five votes on November 8.
He also asserted that Gov Soludo’s administration has indeed wiped tears off the face of Ndi-Anambra and residents alike in just three years in office.
Coordinator of the solidarity and endorsement rally, Comrade Obi noted that drivers and other stakeholders in the transportation sector went on tour of Gov Soludo’s projects in the State.
He reported to the mammoth crowd that gathered at Ikpeazu Stadium in Onitsha that Gov Soludo has indeed surpassed the expectations of the people of the State.in just three years in office.
He also pointed out that the incumbent governor under his watch has chase touts away from motor parks across the State which he noted has brought a sigh of relief to transport operators.
Comrade Obi said that as a way of mobilizing massive votes for the incumbent governor, he has printed millions of stickers which would be distributed to commercial transportation operators free of charge.
Also speaking, Chief Ben Obi (Igwe APGA) noted that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the November 8 Anambra Governorship election, who is also the incumbent governor has made the party proud.
Chief Obi said excitedly that the incumbent governor has raised the bar of governance and that whoever that will succeed him after his eight years tenure should better start to under study him in earnest.
Igwe APGA appealed to Ndi-Anambra to use their PVCs to vote for continuity of good governance occasioned by Gov Soludo.
The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Barr..Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike while applauding Gov Soludo for his giant strides since he assumed office noted that the over one thousand kilometer of roads constructed under his watch is second to none.
She pointed out that her ministry is the biggest beneficiary of Gov Soludo’s administration as he is aligning with the federal government on bringing to reality speed trains, blue economy and airlines.
Hon Mimi Azikiwe, representing Onitsha North in Anambra State House of Assembly while commending Gov Soludo on unprecedented infrastructural development said that anything transport starts and end in Onitsha.
She appreciated the governor for his wonderful governance which she noted has become blueprint for other governors in the country.
In his brief comments, Gov Soludo applauded the transport operators for being good citizens, he assured them that he would continue to blaze the trail in quality governance.
