It was commendation galore for the Transition Committee (TC) Chairman of Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State, Hon Engr Chris Obiorah, as the education building he reconstructed was commissioned on Friday.
The commissioning ceremony, which took place at Nnewi North LGA Secretariat, attracted distinguished personalities.
The Nnewi North TC chairman while speaking during the commissioning ceremony said that he has always been passionate about education.
Hon Engr. Obiorah pointed out that he was not happy when he came on board and discovered the dilapidated condition of the education building in the council area.
He said as a matter of fact that the building was almost collapsed and in condition of disrepair.
Engr Chris Obiorah, believing in the philosophy of Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, of the run, run revolution, began the reconstruction and rehabilitation process of the education building immediately after he assumed office as TC chairman.
Apart from the reconstruction of the education building, Engr Chris Obiorah, living up to his bidding as an engineer, also embarked on the rehabilitation of Nnewi North LGA Secretariat Road.
The rehabilitation of the Secretariat Road ushered in respite for the LGA staffers and visitors to the council area alike.
Also on Friday, the solar-powered borehole sunk by Gov Charles Soludo’s administration and the reconstructed health center financed by a critical stakeholder, Chief Oliver Nwagbala, was commissioned.
Speaking at the occasion, Obi of Nnewichi-Nnewi, Obi George Onyekaba (Obidiugwu) commended the TC chairman for the commissioned projects.
Obidiugwu noted with relish that the Nnewi North Transition Committee chairman is doing very well, noting that the singular reason he is supporting and associates with Engr Chris Obiorah is because of his outstanding performance.
Obi Onyekaba urged the TC chairman to continue the good work so as to write his name in marble in the sand of time.
The Executive Chairman of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, during an interactive session with journalists, pointed out that the officials of ASUBEB from the council area had been complaining about the deplorable condition of their office.
Dr. Nwadinobi said she is excited that Hon. Chris Obiorah1, the T.C. chairman of Nnewi North LGA, is championing the Gov Charles Soludo’s agenda for Education in Anambra State.
She said as a matter of fact that the staffers of ASUBEB in the council area don’t have any excuse again on why they should not perform optimally, especially now that the atmosphere is conducive for them.
The occasion was witnessed by eminent personalities in the industrial town of Nnewi and members and officials of APGA in the council area.
