Ahead of November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra state, leaders of Ogbaru Local Government Area chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu and Mrs. Callista Nwachukwu have expressed confidence that the recent influx of decampees from other political parties into APC is an affirmation that the pendulum is swinging towards the party and it’s candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu.

Also, all the APC party , Ukachukwu , Ekwunife support groups have been urged to put party interest above their support groups irrespective of when anyone joined the APC party stressing on the need for synergy and commitment to deliver the Ukachukwu/ Ekwunife APC ticket in every polling unit and Ward.

In an enlarged meeting of all the APC exco members from the Local Government and wards in Ogbaru comprising Local government excos of the party and principal officers from each of the 16 wards in the local government area and several support groups including Ikemba Front, Equity Movement and SOFIG held at Onuiyi Heaven, Atani, Friday, Convener of the meeting, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu assured all the new members who had decamped from other political parties to the APC and the support groups within the party that they would benefit a lot from the party as soon as Prince Ukachukwu is declared winner of the gubernatorial election.
Awogu who attributed the influx of new members into APC to the love the people have for Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu and to his optimum performance during his regime as Ogbaru Local Government Chairman which he said helped to attract oil revenue owing to the realization of oil bearing status for Anambra State through oil operations in Ogbaru Local Government Area. Awogu said with such an influx, the party does not need to rig the election to flush out APGA and it’s candidate, Governor Chukwuma Soludo out of the Government House, come November 8, this year.
He recalled that the influx started from when he joined APC and became the national coordinator of Ikemba Front, adding that when Ukachukwu emerged as the party’s gubernatorial candidate, the influx increased as a result of the peoples’ belief that Ukachukwu has the pedigree and leadership qualities they needed for grassroots development as against the present Soludo’s poor performances in the areas of security and infrastructural developments.
He therefore warned that any political party in the state which relied on rigging this time around must surely meet a brick wall, adding that there is a circumstantial evidence that the incumbent Governor Soludo’s performance is so abysmal that he obviously needed to be stopped from going for a second tenure and replaced with a more consciencious and resourceful person like Prince Ukachukwu.
According to Awogu, “the stage we are now is Operation deliver your polling unit. We are going to set a platform for the basis of collective convergence. Our emphasis now is on 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election, not 2027, 2029 or any other year. We must have to bid APGA and Soludo farewell from Awka Government House. No more, no less”.
In her own speech, Mrs. Nwachukwu, leader of the party in the local government area who was also a one time council chairman and currently the state treasurer of APC, urged every member of the party, both old and new, irrespective of the particular support group they belong to, to be duty bound to work assiduously to secure victory for the party during the election.
According to Mrs. Nwachukwu, “every party member must reap the benefit of his or her dint of hard work. In APC, the more you work hard, the more you reap the benefits of your hard work. We have 16 electoral wards in Ogbaru Local Government. All you are required to do is to go to your various wards, attract more membership and get your reward instantly”.
