Media practitioner, civic voice, and broadcaster Caleb Okeke-Enyobi (Nkan’uzu Anaedo) has been named Media Personality of the Year at the prestigious 2025 Nnewi Heroes Awards, held on Tuesday, January 6, at The Nnewi Hotel.
The award recognises his consistent, fearless, and people-centred use of media as a tool for public education, accountability, good governance advocacy, and community development. Through radio, digital platforms, and civic engagements, Okeke-Enyobi and Authority FM, Nnewi distinguished himself as a leading voice shaping public discourse in Nnewi and beyond.
He was honoured alongside notable individuals and institutions celebrated for excellence, leadership, innovation, enterprise, security, humanitarian service, youth development, and media impact. The event, proudly sponsored by Thrivewave Mega Solar, stood as a strong statement on capacity, vision, competence, and responsible leadership in Nnewi.
Other major awardees included Authority Radio and Television (91.9 FM) Nnewi as the Best Radio Station of the Year; Hon. Echezona Anazodo, Executive Chairman of Nnewi North LGA, as Young Icon in Youth Leadership Development; Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna as Young Icon in Real Estate of the Year; The Nnewi Hotel and Events Centre Ltd as Hospitality Brand of the Year; and Emmachuks Travels and Tours Ltd (Njem Rides) as Outstanding Fast-Rising Logistics Company of the Year, among many others.
Posthumous and lifetime honours were also conferred on distinguished personalities who have left indelible marks in security, enterprise, innovation, and community leadership.
Speaking after receiving the award, Caleb Okeke-Enyobi expressed gratitude to the organisers and dedicated the honour to the people whose stories, struggles, and aspirations he amplifies daily. He reaffirmed his commitment to ethical journalism, responsible broadcasting, and using media as a force for unity, development, and the positive projection of Nnewi on national and global stages.
He further urged young people to engage purposefully, build capacity, and deploy their talents in service to society, stressing that media is not just influence but responsibility.
