On Sunday, February 13, 2022, a day preceding Saint Valentine’s day, Chinelo Edwin Ejimbe reached another milestone of his life of service.
The ceremony took place at St Mary’s Anglican Cathedral Nnewi. He and his wife and others were inducted into the Order of Saint Christopher Knighthood by the Rt Rev Ndubuisi Obi, the Anglican Bishop of Nnewi.
Sir Chinelo Ejimbe, popularly known as Onowu, considers his admission humbling, and he promises to reinvigorate his commitment to the service of God.
Sir Chinelo Ejimbe has always been a service-oriented person all his life. As a teenager in secondary school, he was one of the leaders in the Red Cross Society. He spent an enormous amount of time training students across the old Nnewi Division on life-saving procedures.
At that formative age of his life, Sir Ejimbe was very involved with the Anglican Communion activities in the school.
Besides his deep-rooted commitment to the church, Sir Chinelo Ejimbe has always given service to his community in Nnewi and the United States of America.
In a nutshell, Sir Ejimbe is an all-around performer. “He is both a socialist and a generous man, whom you could rely on in times of need,” Mr. Okoli intoned.
“The recognition of Sir Chinelo Ejimbe today tells you a lot about him,” Okoli said. He said that even though Ejimbe lives in New York, the induction confirms his commitment to the church here in Nnewi despite his involvement in the church over there.
