The fate of the Anambra State Commissioner for Industry, Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, seems to be hanging in the balance as the governor has announced his replacement.
Dr. Ngonadi started facing a dwindling political fortune when Gov Charles Soludo unbundled the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which he previously occupied.
The governor was said to have broken the ministry into two leaving Dr. Ngonadi with the Ministry of Industry following protests by traders’ groups across the state over some alleged malfeasance.
Things, however, moved from bad to worse for the Nnewichi-Nnewi-born Commissioner as the governor announced the appointment of another man from his kindred, Mr. Christian Chukwudozie Udechukwu, as his replacement.
Mr. Udechukwu’s appointment was in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr. Christian Aburime.
The new appointee was the Media anchor man for Prof Soludo when he contested in the 2010 Anambra State governorship election.
People freely discussed the incident at social events over the weekend in Nnewi.
