From Ifeoma Ejiofor

Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) Anambra State branch has condemned outrightly insensate, despicable, what it called inhuman and detestable massacre of people at Nibo Awka South LG by yet to be unidentified assassins.CLO identified and sympathized with the bereaved, Nibo community, Awka South LG and Government and people of Anambra State over the avoidable men made irreparable and irreplaceable loss.

The position of CLO was contained in a press statement issued to newsmen tagged “life is sacred” endorsed by Evang. Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, Chidi Mbah, Hyginus Udensi Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

The group appealed to Gov Charles Soludo and Commissioner of Police to institutes indepth and discreet investigative panel made of people with impeccable character and integrity to unravel the circumstances surrounding the barbaric killings, identify the sponsors and brought all the culprits to face the full wrath of law to act as deterrents to others.

“It is worthy of note that sanctity, sacredness and dignity of human persons must be protected and respected at all cost and times. Pertinently it is only God that gives and take lives hence “thou shall not kill” as commanded by God must be obeyed.

“We equally calls on both Federal and State governments to beef up security and improve security architecture of our country which is the most essence of governments.”

May the victims families, their loved ones, Nibo community and Anambra State government accepts our sincere heartfelt condolences and assurances of our fervent prayers at this mournful and painful moment.

May God forgives the shortcomings of those that lost their lives and accept their souls in paradise as well as quick recovery of the wounded ones and divine healings.

We pray that such painful experience will never rear it’s ugly head in Anambra again, rather it will be a state where injustice will be replace with justice, insecurity with adequate security, avarice will be replace with selflessness, nepotism with patriotism, mediocrity with meritocracy, war will be replace with peace and tranquility,” CLO enthused.
