Dorayi killings: There’s hope for justice – Kwankwaso commends police over arrest

Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed relief over the swift arrest of suspects linked to the gruesome murder of Fatima Abubakar and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi, Kano State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Kwankwaso described the killing as “barbaric, heartbreaking and deeply tragic,” noting that the victims were a defenceless mother and her young children.

He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the Dorayi Chiranchi community, and the people of Kano State, saying the incident had plunged the state into mourning.

Kwankwaso commended the Kano State Police Command for what he described as a rapid, intelligence-led response that led to the arrest of the principal suspects within hours of the crime.

“The prompt action by the police offers a glimmer of justice in the face of such cruelty,” he said.

The NNPP chieftain urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to swift and decisive justice to prevent a recurrence of such acts.

He also called on residents of Kano State to remain vigilant and strengthen community cooperation in order to curb violence and enhance public safety.

Kwankwaso prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, asking Allah to grant them Aljannah Firdaus and to give their relatives the strength to bear the loss.
