The leading aspirant for the vacant Anambra South Senatorial seat, Hon Pat Ubajaka, has explained that achieving success where there are competing interests takes deft maneuver to achieve results.
Hon Ubajaka disclosed his approach to leadership during an interactive session with the press corps in his country home yesterday. Ubajaka believes that “having the right temperament is sine qua non for achieving meaningful results among one’s peers.”
“You don’t necessarily have to be loud to attract dividends of democracy to your constituency. What is required is a deliberate collaborative leadership that one’s colleagues can see through it.”
“I believe that being tenacious in the pursuit of my constituency interests will also entail working hard to understand all nuances as they relate to every project.”
When asked what formula he would apply to be successful at the Senate? Hon Ubajaka debunked the assumption that one particular approach that has worked in one piece of legislation will necessarily be applied in another legislation.
“In all these, staying in touch with my constituency, giving them feedback at every step of my parliamentary journey will keep me grounded as far as remaining effective at the Senate in bringing more projects and services to them,” he said.
