Excitement as Gov Soludo flags off construction of Nkwo to Nkwo road

The Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo has on Wednesday flagged off the construction of the popular Nkwo to Nkwo road.

The ten kilometer road which has deteriorated and abandoned over the years connect Nkwo Oraifite in Ekwusigo LGA to Nkwo Nnewi in Nnewi North LGA of the state.

Gov Soludo, the same day also flagged off the construction of 5.8km Oraifite Civic Center—Afiaụzọ—Akwukwu—Owerri—Onitsha Road, with standard flood and erosion control.

The governor while flagging off the roads for construction said that the road is expected to be completed in twelve months.

He emphasized the strategic importance of these roads, stating that they would provide long-term solutions to flooding and erosion crises that have affected the communities for years. He urged the contractor handling the projects to ensure quality work and timely completion.

The governor also revealed that his administration has awarded contracts for 750 kilometers of road construction, with over 420 kilometers completed, and that the state is achieving a monthly road completion rate of 12 kilometers.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer CEO of Ohaneze Motors, Chief Justin Anyadike, who is also a community leader applauded Gov Soludo for extending his solution touch to the two roads.

He said as a matter of fact that the roads will no doubt serve a valuable purpose in the ongoing strategic connectivity and economic growth of Anambra State occasioned by the administration of the day.
