Aspirants who are hoping to represent different constituencies in the National Assembly and Anambra State House of Assembly in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday expressed fear that the party may not produce candidates in the 2023 general election.

The spokesperson for the aspirants, Rt Hon Onyebuchi Offor who is aspiring to represent Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Local Goverment Areas in the House of Representatives presented the position of the aspirants called on the National Working Committee(NWC) of the party to intervene so as to prevent the impending doom.

“We note with pain and dismay the inability of Jibrin Ahmed led committee to conduct the 3 man ad-hoc Delegate election that was to hold on April 30 but was rescheduled to May 1 due to unavailability of original result sheets.

“We passionately call on the National leadership of our great party PDP to
expeditiously repeat the botched exercise on Thursday, May 5 so as not to jeopardise our chances in the 2023 elections or in the event of exigency of time, the already existing ward and LGA executives can go ahead to conduct the primaries.” Offor said.

The Communique the presented by the incumbent Minority of Anambra State House of Assembly said that the same committee set up for the repeat of the 3 man Ad Hoc Congress, could equally be mandated to conduct the National delegate elections on 6th.

A senatorial hopeful who would not want to be mentioned claimed that the persons who are responsible for the botched congress’s major aim is to weaken Mr Peter Obi’s the PDP presidential aspirant’s base.

He said as a matter of fact that if the over one hundred and fifty delegates who are supposed to give a block vote to Mr Peter Obi fail to participate in the presidential primary on the account of the botched congress, the ambition of the former Anambra State governor would be adversely affected.
