A former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, has written to the party to announce his withdrawal from the governorship election, stating that he withdrew to allow for a consensus candidate to emerge.
Ihedioha was elected Imo state governor in 2019 and served up to 2020 before the Supreme Court removed him from office and installed the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma.
The former governor was, however, screened and cleared a few days ago by the PDP to contest the party’s primary ahead of the November 11 governorship election in Imo State.
