The Anambra State Commisioner for Industry, Mr Christian Udechukwu has expressed optimism over the nation’s economic recovery.
Udechukwu who was speaking with journalists in Nnewi said that he is confident about the ability of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to turn things around for the better.
He said as a matter of fact that many nations of the world are experiencing some hardships due to spill over effect of Covid 19 meltdown.
The Commissioner said that the Prof Charles Soludo’s administration has been taken certain critical steps to cushion the effect of present economic reality for Ndi-Anambra.
Udechukwu said, “Gov Soludo has graciously augmented the take home pay for civil servants, in the same vein certain persons and businesses have been exempted from paying taxes and levies.
“Infact, there are some companies that are enjoying government’s technical support and are also given tax reliefs.
“The administration of the day has distributed rice to the length and breadth of the state using the ‘Umunna’ structure, the import of using the kindred platform is that the government’s rice get to the targeted audience.
“The government has equally distributed millions of high quality coconut and palm seedlings to Ndi-Anambra, we have been doing that for two years and more are still coming,” he said.
Udechukwu attributed the impressive performance of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the recently conducted House of Representatives election rerun in Nnewi North LGA to the responsible and responsive governance occasioned in Anambra State by Prof Charles Soludo.
