Gunmen have allegedly killed 4 police officers on duty at the popular Mechanic village, Irete in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State on Monday .
Eye witness who narrated the incident to our correspondent said the four police officers were said to be on duty inside their police vehicle when the gunmen ambushed and shot them.
Four of them were said to have died instantly while another POS operator was said to have been hit by stray bullets from the sporadic shooting.
It would be recalled that the State police Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma has warned and cautioned against a purported five days sit-at-home by Finland based Biafra activists, Simon Ekpa from July 29 to August, 2.
