A 44-year-old man from Osogbo, Mr. Kola Arike, recently suffered immense heartbreak after a DNA test revealed that he is not the biological father of his four children: Ayomide, 16, Sarah, 12, and two other kids aged 8 and 5 years, respectively.

Mr Kola said he trusted his wife Toyin Arike completely and never suspected anything until constant nagging from family members made him doubtful. This led him to carry out the DNA test secretly which confirmed his worst fears.
The heartbroken father said he was devastated to learn after over a decade that none of the four kids from ages 3 to 10 years belonged to him biologically. He warned men to be careful and conduct tests to avoid finding themselves in similar situations.
Reacting live on air, Toyin, a healthcare worker, said: “I don’t accept the result. I don’t accept it because I was not there when they took samples, and I don’t know which sample they took, so I don’t accept it. I can’t accept it because I know how I conceived those children.”
It is alleged that a certain Brother Segun is the biological father of the children, but Toyin denied this.
The trend of men discovering their children are not theirs through DNA tests appears to be on the rise in Nigeria. This case has further highlighted the emotional trauma and anguish suffered by men who make such shocking discoveries after years of care and parental investment.
