Hon Akiolu holds multiple youth empowerment programs for constituents

The lawmaker representing Lagos Island 11 federal constituency, Hon Prince Kayode Moshood Akiolu has held a multiple youth empowerment programs for his constituents.

The empowerment programs which were in conjunction with Federal Cooperative College, Oji River, Enugu State, Orange Business Solution and Services Ltd as well as Gideon Oshinaya and Co Ltd was held at two different locations.

The youths were trained and empowered on agro and skill acquisition on fashion design, fishery, animal husbandry

Mrs Angela Okafor was the resource person for agro training while Mrs Chidinma Ndieli took the participants through training on tailoring during the 7 day youth empowerment programs.

Many other resource persons in the civil societies featured in the life changing empowerment program.

A source from the Constituency Office of Hon Akiolu who will not want his name mentioned, said that certificates of participation, working tools and start up cash were given to the lucky youths on completion of the training.

A resident, who identified himself as Yusuf Lateef said that there is excitement in the entire city of Lagos and especially Lagos Island area about the youth empowerment programs.

Lateef noted that many people were positively impacted in the previous editions noting that the lawmaker has taken empowerment to the next level with the multiple training and empowerment of the lucky beneficiaries.

“Hon Akiolu is a God sent to many people who have been struggling to stay afloat because of the current economic reality in Nigeria. I expect other lawmakers to borrow a leaf from the Lagos Island legislator and put smile on the faces of their constituents.

“He empowered beneficiaries with
items like sowing machine, generators, Solar fans and cash needed for their trade after elaborate exposure teaching from experts in their various fields.

“The poultry farmers were given bags of feeds, drinkers and stipend for start up, the fish farmers were given foreign fish feed, fingerlings and stipend for start ups,” he said.
