HoR Election: YPP candidate urges constituents to pick their PVCs

From Ifeoma Ejiofor

The Young Progressive Party (YPP) candidate for the Ihiala federal constituency, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam, has charged his constituents to go all out and collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

The Anambra-based lawyer pointed out that it was not enough to register but imperative to collect the PVCs so that the much-needed positive change would occur in Ihiala.

Barr Maduakolam said that the failure of an individual to collect the PVC would encourage unscrupulous politicians looking for ways to rig the election to buy up the uncollected voters’ cards.

“We had it on a good note that some politicians who belong to the old order are buying up PVCs from unsuspecting persons. We cannot tolerate that. We condemn such acts and encourage people to collect their cards.

“During the registration for PVCs, we encouraged our constituents to troop out in numbers to get registered. It is, therefore, incumbent on all the registered voters in Nigeria and Ihiala, in particular, to ensure that they collect their voter’s cards.

“Our people in Ihiala have embraced the CLEAN project we brought to the federal constituency. We all need to collect our PVCs so that we can collectively achieve this.” Barr Maduakolam explained.

The UK-trained lawyer, however, tasked the INEC and relevant security agencies to ensure that people buying voters cards are apprehended and brought to book.
