Suspected ritualists have beheaded a 37- years- old man identified as Anthony Egbo inside the Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel at Elebele community in Ogbia Local Government area of Bayelsa State.
According to investigations, until his gruesome murder, Egbo was a security personnel attached to the church.
Sources in the community stated that it was the Assistant Pastor of the Church whose name was not disclosed that discovered the mutilated corpse of the victim on Wednesday.
The youth president of Elebele Community, Mr Famous Egbo, confirmed that the corpse of the deceased was discovered on Wednesday.
“When people saw him, he was beheaded. His throat was missing. People suspected that it may be a ritual killing” he said.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the killing, said a report from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Kolo community stated that “the attack was at the head region and his throat was slit.”
Meanwhile, residents of Osiri road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital have discovered the corpse of an unidentified vandal who was electrocuted to death while trying to steal armoured cables from a transformer at the area.
The deceased cashing in on the lack of electricity has successfully cut some armoured cables and was in the process of cutting more when suddenly power was restored and was electrocuted instantly. Residents woke up Wednesday morning to discover his roasted corpse hanging on the electric pole after electrocution.
A resident of the area, Mr Pereko Stanley explained that said the vandal had cut one of the armoured cables but was unfortunate on the second trip with the power coming on and he was electrocuted.
