Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN, a candidate in the ongoing Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) elections, has issued a disclaimer regarding a notice circulating on social media that offers free lunch to lawyers supporting his candidacy.
In a statement released today, Osigwe clarified that he did not authorize or sponsor such a program and is completely unaware of its origin. He emphasized that any such offers should be considered unofficial and not affiliated with his campaign in any way.
“It has come to my attention that a notice is circulating on social media offering free lunch to lawyers supporting me in the NBA elections,” Osigwe said. “I would like to clarify that I did not authorize or sponsor such a program, and I am entirely unaware of its origin.”
The candidate went on to inform his supporters that any promises or offers made in the notice of the program are not binding on him or his campaign team. He encouraged his supporters to continually abide by the guidelines for the elections as set out by the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA).
Osigwe expressed his appreciation for the support he has received and reiterated his commitment to running a fair and transparent campaign in line with the ECNBA’s regulations.
