The atmosphere of joy, happiness and old times memories was quite palpable on Saturday the 8th of March 2025 when the Old Students of Our Lady’s High School Onitsha met to inaugurate the Nnewi Branch of the Association. The Event took place at the CWO Hall Executive Lounge at Nnewi attracted many of the Old Students including the President General, Prof. Noble Oguguo.
In his welcome address the Nnewi Branch Chairman of the Association High Chief Alex Ifeagwazi FNSE FNICE KSJI revealed that the Association has been in existence since the 2nd of May 2024 when it was promulgated by the President General, and the Secretary General immediately assisted in organizing an election for her. He pointed out that this inauguration should have been held earlier but due to unforseen circumstances, which they eventually overcame.
He stated that this delay made the Onitsha Branch to overtake them in the inauguration process, notwithstanding they remain their senior by birth with the responsibility of senior of the mind. Continuing he said: “OLHSOOSA has come a long way in galvanizing OLHSOOSA the ancient and noble OLHS Onitsha. Since it’s inception in 1939, with the name transformation from New African College to African College to Our Lady’s High School to Chukwurah High School and back to Our Lady’s High School. It answers, many transformations both in terms of human and physical development abounds. It is pertinent that those of us who belong to Nnewi area if not Anambra South District come together under the name to contribute our quota with the efforts of our Old Students of Our Lady’s High School Onitsha.”
