The Stakeholders of Young Progressive Party have on Monday, 19th of August, 2024 applauded Amb Paul Muoneke as he declared his intention to contest for chairmanship position in the forthcoming election.
Amb Paul Muoneke who spoke extensively on his achievements as the president of Nnewi Youth Forum said his influence attracted a Hummer Bus for the Forum donated by Late Sen Ifeanyi Ubah whom he described as a fighter who fought for the interest and betterment of the entire Nnewi community.
Amb Muoneke disclosed that his position as the then Youth President included women in his administration.
“That was what led to the formation of Ladies Wing in 2019 which according to him today is the most organized and formidable Ladies Youth Wing in Anambra State” he said
As President of NYF, Amb.Muoneke said he installed motion Solaŕ Steets Lights in most of the Local Markets and strategic places through a program he tagged Operation Zero Tolerance for Darkness.He further disclosed that he introduced Education Support Programs which gave over ten lucky students some funds to pay their school fees.
“During Covid19 outbreak,I did not allow it to abridge my effort.It was that time I introduced Skill Acquisition Program which participants were able to produce sanitizers and noses masks we distributed during the pandemic” he said
He lamented the death of Late Ubah, called on the Stakeholders to keep Late Ubah’s vision alive by giving him their support.
“We are here to build Nnewi, construct neglected roads,equip our children academically by building library, and to manage resources provided wisely for the interest of our community, Nnewi “
“For these to be possible, looking at my antecedents,I felt I fit in for this position” he said
Amb.Muoneke said if they support him, he promised to use the resources provided judiciously.
“We need to be Japan of Africa as people view us.All hands must be on deck to maintain the legacy of Late Ubah”he added
Mrs B Uchendu one of the Stakeholders said Amb Muoneke has proven to be worthy of the position.
“Though, we don’t know yet if he is the only one coming out under the platform of YPP. He has our support , having seen and heard of his achievements.
In YPP,we support a visionary leader that will not disappoint the masses. We will do the needful” She said
Hon Amobi Okonkwo (Anunuebe) who also spoke called Amb Muoneke “an active leader who change narrative”
“We want a candidate that is sellable.
We want practical not theory. Having known Amb Muoneke, he is the man” he said
He described him “as a man of integrity, transparency,a man of his word and one who is ready to work at any given time”
” We don’t need one with dubious mind,we need one ready to deliver ” he added
