The Chairman of People Democratic Party (PDP) Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State,Hon Prince Ifeamuma Nwafor-Orizu has on Thursday, 12th of September 2024 presented Certificates of Return to candidates contesting in the forthcoming Local Government polls scheduled for 28th of September 2024.
The party Chairman, Prince Nwafor-Orizu speaking at the event which was held in his residence at Otolo, Nnewi expressed gratitude to the people of Nnewi and reiterated his commitment to ensuring victory for the PDP at all levels during the 2024 Local Government polls.
“We are promising Nnewi people that we are ready for the election and we are going to succeed. PDP has no problem.We are one United family.”Nwafor-Orizu assured
He advised the candidates not to be afraid adding that victory would surely be theirs.
Nwafor-Orizu disclosed that he purchased the tickets to leave a legacy and to empower them to come out massively to exercise their franchise.
“I have been doing things to touch lives. I have never taxed anyone rather I have been the one sacrificing for the growth of our party, PDP” he added
He called on the candidates to take the opportunity seriously and focus on the goal.
Prof Edwin Chukwuma (Oyinatumba) who spoke during the event, said election has almost reached. He encouraged the candidates to use the golden opportunity wisely.
“Opposition is good, without opposition Government will not sit up.Late Ifeanyi Ubah was the one opposing Governor Charles Soludo which made him to work actively.As soon as he died,the Governor stopped its work.” he revealed
He called Nwafor-Orizu, Chris Uba Junior who fought for PDP’s tickets with his resources adding that PDP remained strong Political party that would always produce credible and well to do candidates not puppets.
The flag bearer of PDP in Nnewi North forthcoming Chairmanship election, Bar Orizu Enyinnaya speaking at the event, appreciated God Almighty, their Chairman and PDP members for their efforts in getting the certificates of Return.
He urged the candidates to team up to do what they were called to do and leave the rest in the hands of God.
“We are going there for the betterment of our people, Nnewi.” he added
Ogueke Nwafor-Orizu, the flag bearer of PDP for Otolo Ward 1 said “their first priority is to make PDP proud.” He encouraged other candidates to work effectively to change the narrative which according to him was materialism.
Ogueke called on the people of Nnewi to come out massively on 28th of September, 2024 to vote wisely for a difference.
