The Nnewi North Local Goverment Area branch of Imo General Assembly (IGA) has elected new officials.
The newly elected officials will pilot the affairs of the association for the next four years.
Some of the elected officials include: Chief Chinedu Igwe President, Chief Don Okafor VP, Chief DM Obi, Gen Sec, Mr Donatus Chibueze Assistant Sec, Mr Chima Enyioke Treasurer, Mr Virginus Nwabuzu Fin/Sec, Mr Sunday Udofor PRO, Chief Cajenthan Ojikeyame Welfare and Mr Ikechukwu Emedom Provost.
In his post election speech, Chief Chinedu Igwe, the chairman, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Suzuki Don International Ltd who was returned as the president unopposed thanked all the members of IGA for finding him worthy of their confidence.
Chief Igwe reassured them that he will continue to uphold the integrity of the association and as well protect the collective interest of all the members of the group.
He also congratulated the new Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo on his success at the polls and eventual inauguration.
Chief Igwe appealed to the new governor to look into the yearning of the people of the state as it regards security of lives and properties.
“We can only enjoy the infrastructural facilities when we are alive. With that at the back of our minds, I expect Gov Soludo to work with security agencies to stem the tide of insecurity in Anambra State.” Chief Igwe appealed.
He also applauded Prof Soludo on his decision to quit touts in the state noting that the move is a very welcomed development.
Chief Igwe however admonished the Anambra State number one man to set up taskforce to ensure compliance.
