The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission ( ANSIEC) says campaign for the August 29th Local Government Election in the state will commence on April 1st 2026.
In a press statement, ahead of the local government electioneering campaign in the state, the Commissioner in charge of Information and Publicity in the Commission Chief Sir Tony Chinedu noted that the announcement empowers all registered political parties in the state to participate in the exercise.
Chief Chinedu urged that civility and orderliness should prevail throughout the period of the electioneering campaign.
He further enjoined all political parties to abide by the rules and regulations of the commission guiding the conduct of the election to ensure a free and fair process.
The ANSIEC spokesperson used the forum to pay glowing tribute to Gov Charles Soludo for his successful inauguration into a second term in office,and for appointing competent persons in the recent appointments he made.
