Sir Charles Ezeokafor the new elected president general of Okpoko community Ogbaru LGA has assured that his mission in the community is to restore absolute peace and tranquility, promote love among residents as well as ensure adequate security maintenance in the entire community.
Outlining these as the areas his administration will tackle while speaking to newsmen in his residence at Ede road Okpoko Ogbaru LGA., two days after he was elected. Sir Ezeokafor thanked the community for electing him. He stated that immediately he was elected that his first priority was how he will personally reach out to various contending parties in the leadership of the community to come together for peace to reign adding that he had already set up a process of contacting them to withdraw their various suits in court for all of them to come together to move the community forward.
On other areas of development of the community, he noted that areas his administration will give priority attention are sanitation, decongestion of streets markets which the community is noted for.
On general cleanness, he assured that street sweepers will be employed to ensure that every streets in the community will be kept clean just as he said that the men of Ocha brigade, otherwise known as operation keep Anambra Clean will be contracted to decongest community streets of unauthorized trading along the street.
On security, he noted that every contentions issues which in the past has caused serious problem in the past will be ratified as he and his executives will have one controlling security outfit for the community for easy control as no street or zones will be allowed to have their own security outfits.
On Gov. Chukwuma Soludo love for Okpoko people, The new president general while thanking God for giving them a Governor like Prof. Chukwuma Soludo who he said had extreme love for the community which has been demonstrated by quality development project he had initiated in the area thanked him and assured that they will support him a second tenure.
Said he, “Gov. Soludo has done a lot of marvelous projects in Okpoko to demonstrate his love for the community but like Oliver Twist we want him to provide us clean pipe born water, more trained government school teachers rehabilitate our dilapidated Okpoko boys Secondary School”.
