National Assembly Elections: Anambra businessman drums support for YPP candidates, Sen Ubah, Barr Maduakolam

From Ifeoma Ejiofor

Ahead of the February 25 National Assembly elections, an Anambra-based businessman, Ichie Kenneth Maduakor, has solicited support for the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidates, Sen Ifeanyi Ubah and his younger brother, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam.

Sen Ubah is seeking reelection to the red chamber of the National Assembly to represent Anambra South senatorial zone, while Barr Maduakolam seeks to represent Ihiala federal constituency in the green chamber.

In a voice note made available to journalists on Wednesday, Ichie Maduakor noted that it is apparent to all and sundry what the representatives of the Ihiala federal constituency have done for the constituents since 1999.

The businessman philanthropist pointed out that it is actually the turn of Ebonisi to produce the next House of Representatives member for the Ihiala Local Government Area but added that he was throwing his weight behind his younger brother because of the passion he has for his people.

Ichie Maduakor said that a good boy is known by the way he judiciously runs an errand for the people.

“Akachukwu is contented and comfortable. These two attributes have nothing to do with the level of a deep pocket of an individual. He has been concerned about the welfare of his village, community and the entire Ihiala federal constituency. He will give Ndi-Ihiala a quality representation.

“He has four degrees in different fields of human endeavour, out of which he has First Class in two and Second Class Upper in the other two.

“Akachukwu got First Class Honours in United Kingdom (UK) and he was immediately offered employment but he decided to return home to positively impact his community.” Ichie Maduakor explained.

He recalled how he transformed the Azia community in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, noting that his younger brother would create a big record in the House of Representatives if given the mandate by Ndi-Ihiala.

“I heard that some candidates who have abandoned the constituency and constituents alike are begging to be sent back so as to become a ranking member. Me, I am not interested in that. You cannot abandon your people for nearly four years and start appealing to them to send you back to become a ranking member.

“The records are there for all to see. Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, in less than four years in the Senate chamber, has done more than what some of his predecessors can not achieve in eight or more years. What has the person presently representing Ndi-Ihiala in the House of Representatives done for us? I appeal to Ndi-Ihiala to vote for YPP candidates, Sen Ifeanyi Ubah for Senate and Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam for House of Representatives.

Ichie Maduakor said that if Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam fails to deliver the much-needed goods as a federal lawmaker, he should be held responsible.

If there are people I know who are always confident going against the status quo, positively impacting lives and bringing upward change to those around them, Akachukwu comes first. Ihialla Federal Constituent will be doing itself a great favor to vote him into office.
