Sir Silas Ikeh, an Igbo community leader and civil rights activist who also a prominent member of Orlu leaders of taught in Imo state has welcomed the recent coalition formed by key opposition leaders led by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 general election. He argued that the development of ADC is a good political move to rescue Nigerians from grip of ruling APC government which has pauperized Nigerians.

Making this known while speaking to journalists on the development and his take on selecting of presidential candidate for the coalition in his residence at New heaven estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi LGA in Anambra state, Ikeh noted that the coalition picking of platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC) is also good and credible. He believes that it will serve as an alternative to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and expressed optimism that the coalition will get it right by choosing a credible and acceptable leader who the masses of Nigeria will like and vote for during the party presidential candidate.

He stated that what will lift up or mar the acceptance of the coalition will be the caliber and integrity of whoever will emerge as the party presidential candidate. He noted that as it stands now that the only person the Nigeria masses, especially youths, will accept is Mr. Peter Obi appealed to former vice President Atiku Abubakar to be patriotic enough as well as other leaders of opposition like Mallam El rufai and other northern leaders to rally round Mr. Peter Obi to get the ticket. He proposed that Peter should serve for four years to complete the south quota as specified in the political leadership concerning the zoning arrangement of the country. He will hand over to the northern Nigeria zone.

Speaking further, he also urged former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to equally scale down his ambition and join forces with Mr. Peter Obi and work for the success of Mr. Peter Obi, adding that the arrangement is the best option to snatch the presidency from APC led government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Said the Igbo leader, “This is not politics. I am speaking the mind of most Nigerians who want Mr. Peter Obi, to be the ADC presidential candidate. I am passionately appealing to Ex vice president Atiku to be patriotic enough to allow Mr. Peter Obi to go in for four years to complete the quota of the south as it is obtained in Nigeria leadership zoning arrangement in Nigeria, I am begging Mallam El rufal, and all northern leaders to come together and support Mr. Obi, I believe this is possible for this new coalition to take over leadership of Nigeria from APC and rescue this nation”.
