Nnewi was jolted out of sleep in the wee hours of today with the terrible news of an inferno engulfing a section of Nkwo Nnewi, with goods and shops worth billions of Naira already razed even as it threatened to wipe out the trillion naira market if left unchecked
While I must commend the efforts of the first responders who tried their best to extinguish the blazes, they could do little to nothing against such a force of nature and so the market continued to burn until Chief Prof Joseph Ugboaja OON (Ochinanwata Nnewi, Uzochukwukwara Uvume) got wind of the dire situation and immediately swung into action
Under the administration of Chief Prof Joseph Ugboaja OON (Ochinanwata Nnewi), NAUTH has a fully equipped and functional fire fighting department which showcased their capacity and professionalism when called upon and recall that last year, NAUTH took delivery of the latest state-of-the art fire fighting trucks as well as ambulances, all of which are for the protection and servicing of NAUTH. They arrived fully prepared for the monster and fought it to a complete stop after hours of entanglement, thereby saving Nkwo Nnewi from utter and inevitable destruction
Gratitude must go to the brave men of the fire fighting department of NAUTH who risked their lives to come to the aid of Nnewi at such a dark time but most importantly, unreserved accolades must go to Chief Prof Dr Joseph Ugboaja OON (Ochinanwata Nnewi, Uzochukwukwara Uvume) for benevolently ordering his resources be used in that manner without charge to Ndi Nnewi even though it was never the mandate for which the equipment and department were setup in the first place but out of his own humane and empathic persona, he overrode that protocol and thus, saved Nnewi from losing its prized economic heartbeat
