Nnamdi Azikiwe University appoints Dr Chito John-Akamelu as Coordinator B.Sc Tax Programme

Professor Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University has appointed Dr Chito John-Akamelu as the pioneer Coordinator of B.Sc Taxation programme at UNIZIK. Dr Chito, nee Onweluzo, will head the new 4 year Programme in Taxation as a Coordinator.

The Coordinator is equivalent to an HOD until after about three years after it might have gone through the NUC accreditation processes. After the successful accreditation certification that it shall become a full department. So, Dr Chito’s work is rigorous for these three years that NUC will keep them under scrutiny.

It was Dr Chito John-Akamelu who drafted the Taxation when she was the HOD for Accountancy. The appointment befits her; just as the saying goes “Chito is a square peg in a square hole.”

Professor Umobi, who is touted for being stricter academic excellence, always seek out hard working personnel with excellent academic integrity to nurture and manage academic programmes at UNIZIK.

When Vision Newspapers contacted Dr Chito for comments, she thanked the Acting Vice-Chancellor for appointing her to nurture the programme at thus time. She is prepared to work for the continued academic excellence which UNIZIK is known for.
