The upcoming weekend will witness a massive show of solidarity as the Inauguration of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Nnewi branch takes place at Anaedo Social Club Nnewi.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo is not new in Nnewi, but a new crop of leadership has emerged to revive the fundamental reasons behind the formation of the cultural movement. The revamped leadership under Prince Afam Orizu will be inaugurated with much fanfare this weekend.
The Inauguration ceremony will herald a major activity on the day with some award ceremonies on deserving patriotic Ndigbo. Additionally, there will be display of traditional dances and masquerades for the joy of the invitees.
Prince Afam Orizu, the Chairman of the umbrella cultural organization will use the opportunity to reorient ndi Igbo on why they must reflect on their existence as a people and what is expected of them to strengthen the Igbo nation.
Prince Orizu continues, “This is the time any Igbo adult should make effort to be at the venue to learn about what fortifies the Igbo nation.”
“Ohanaeze should use its platform as a vehicle to recapture the aura which used to guide the Igbos but is now alien to our people, especially our young adults,” he continues.
The leaders were in unison in advocating that the common theme of the day should be the revival of the Igbo values.
