
- Crown Prince awards full academic scholarship to her son

The rainfall of October 7th, 2025 in Nnewi wrecked a huge havoc to various parts of Nnewi with severe damages to properties, physical injuries, and death. There were instances of miraculous rescues, but Mrs Uchenna Chibukom was not so lucky.


The Crown Prince Dr Obianaefo Orizu, on behalf of HRH Igwe KON Orizu III, and Obi Uruagu, Obi Afam Obi visited with family of the deceased who lived on Nkwo to Nkwo road. The President General of Uruagu quarter, Mr Innocent Okoli (Organizer) was also part of the entourage that condole with the family.


According to Mr Nath Chima, the brother of the late Uchenna Chibukom (the deceased), the sister went to the store near their house to buy snacks and soft drink for the son. Mr Chima said that it appeared that the sister slipped and fell in to the gutter and was swept away by the heavy flood.

Obi Uruagu observed that the drainage system on the Nkwo to Nkwo road needs urgent attention by the government to address the danger the people face each time there is a heavy rain there.
After consoling the family and relatives who received the traditional leaders, particularly the son of the deceased, Chukwubuike Chibukom, the Crown Prince awarded a full scholarship upto the Tertiary Institution. He directed the family to bring him to the palace for proper documentation.
