Nnewi monthly meeting began with a somber moment for Senator Ifeanyi Ubah

*The issues with the Obi of the various quarters had been resolved*

The PG of Nnewi town union known as Nzukora Nnewi, Dr. Maduka Atueyi, informed the people to remember that the biggest tragedy befell the town recently. He said that “he is talking about nothing but the untimely death of Distinguished Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.”

The President invited Dr. Nsoedo to lead the “moment of silence observation for the town’s illustrious son, Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. The accreditation indicated that there was a very good turnout by the people from the various parts of the fifty-one administrative Wards. The President, still with a pained voice, informed the Nnewi people that “if it was not for the Afiaolu Festival, which must be discussed, I would have postponed the meeting because our people are still mourning our brother, Senator Ubah,” the President said. As he delved into the minor issue between the Igwe Nnewi and the Obi of the three quarters, the PG admonished that Nnewi is well-endowed with wisdom and material things. “Therefore, our effort must always be to work together,” Dr. Maduka said. With that, he informed the meeting that the issue had been resolved amicably.

He went on to thank some important individuals who invested time and effort in ensuring that Nnewi always binds themselves in unity. He encouraged all to be promoters of peace so that Nnewi would keep advancing from strength to strength. The vice PG, Prince Jude Osumuo who seemed to be in thick of the dialogue that resolved misunderstanding emphasized that the special prayer offered in this hall during the last meeting helped to soften the heart of every party involved. Prince Osumuo urged all the cheerleaders who seemed to fan the Amber of discord to eschew such a way of life.

“The attempt to divide Nnewi can never be possible,” said Prince Osumuo. He thanked HRH Igwe Nnewi and the Obis immensely for their leadership and guidance.” The mystery of how we do our thing still amazed the other Igbo communities,” Osumuo said.

The Women wing of Nzukora Nnewi, led by Mrs Uche Anajekwu, from Akabo Nnewichi, paid a familiarization visit to the meeting with her executive. The leader nee Iloka said that they came to introduce themselves, and to solicit for assistance of their husbands for the Nnewi August meeting they are planning in November, 2024. The August meeting is not a religious meeting affiliated with any churches.

Arch Paul Ileka (Solid Base) led the members to make donations to the women’s group. Arch Ileka reminded the women that they are the glue that holds families together. He urged them to keep working harmoniously with Nzukora for greater success. Arch Ileka donated the sum of #100,000.00 to the Women’s wing.

Others like Pastor Ejimbe Ifeanyi, Ezeakukwu Emmanuel Nsoedo, Prince Jude Osumuo, Isi Ana Nnewi, Chief Sir Bonny Obi, Hon Adukwulu, etc., keyed in with the donation. Each quarter donated #100,000, and Nzukora rounded it up with #500,000.

The PG dissolved the former Public Project Monitoring Committee and designated a new one to be headed by Pastor Ifeanyi Ejimbe as the Chairman. Members of the Committee are Ezeakukwu Emmanuel Nsoedo, Chief Michael Igwebe, Nnaemeka okoli, Onwudiwe O.C., Okongwu Promise, Ejidike Sylvester, and Uchenna Beige.The Chairman of the Afiaolu Festival Committee informed the meeting that they are ready to give the people the best Afiaolu ceremony as they have never witnessed.

The full activities for the ceremony with the various monetary prices of 1 million naira, 750,000.00, etc. They will also give food items to the indigent women and men, which they intend all names submitted to them. There is a great highlight on masquerades that will be performed on the first day and the last day of the festival to satisfy the yearnings of the people.
