Nnewi North Local Government Area Mayor Hon Echezona Anazodo has extolled Anambra State Governor,Prof Charles Soludo for his initiative to transform Anambra State.
He said this during an interaction with some journalists in his office on Friday,15th of Nevember 2024.
He said the demolition of shops,billboards,motor parks and other categories of property along Owerri Road Nnewi ,Anambra State which started on Tuesday were to give way for a road dualization project.
Anazodo said in terms of infrastructural development ,”the Governor is making better use of people’s money” adding that there would be compensations for those who were affected.
“There is no Anambra State without the 21 Local Governments. When the Governor initiates any program we will support him ” he said
Anazodo urged the people of Nnewi to support Governor Soludo’s good governance and stop playing opposition politics which according to him has never favored them.
“Within three weeks, we have seen the dividends of working with the governor.
“The initial plan was that the road will start from Agulu to Okija but because of our genuine intervention that was what brought about urgent partition of Nnewi to Okija and Agulu to Nnewi”he said
He added that the governor has seen that Nnewi North has cued into the system
“The Governor has seen that Nnewi need urgent intervention in road construction and rehabilitation “he said
Hon Anazodo revealed that Governor Soludo knew the plight of the people of Anambra especially those whose shops were demolished adding that anybody with a reasonable structure that obstructed the road construction would be compensated whether with Certificate of Occupancy or not.
He said demolition of shops and others did not come as sudden as people speculated revealing that they were genuinely notified but they did not believe it was real.
He noted that a lot has changed within three weeks they assumed office.Anazodo further stated that they have two major things that need urgency which he enumerated as security and quick intervention on rehabilitation and construction of roads in bad shape.
