The Transition Committee Chairman Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Engr Chris Obirorah has engineered a Health Insurance Package Initiated by the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency(ASHIA).
The event,which took place on Sunday attracted the attention of Nnewi philanthropists including the likes of Chief Cletus Ibeto; Dr Innocent Chukwuma; Chief Chika Okafor; Chief Louis Onwugbenu; Chief Innocent Okoli (Organizer) and Chief Ifeanyi Ekwulugwo who in their magnanimity sponsored hundreds of Nnewi residents to benefit from the programme.
The Nnewi TC Chairman, Obirorah in the programme he tagged Nnewi North health insurance package for residents said it was being done to support Governor Charles Soludo in the ASHIA initiative.
He said this was in line with the Governor’s health policy to reach out to Nnewi residents as done in other communities for their over all interest to have good health.
He disclosed that there were up to 500 hospitals in partnership with the ASHIA in Nnewi and promised to help the beneficiaries to know the hospitals.
The TC Chairman advised Nnewi residents to shun self medication and embrace the opportunity presented by ASHIA.
The event witnessed the presence of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Nnewi North Chairmanship candidate for the September 28 local government election, Echezona Anazodo with his supporters.
The Nzuko-Ora Nnewi President General, Dr Atuenyi Maduaka commended Governor Soludo for the health policy which he said would go a long way towards solving health issues of many residents who he advised to fully exploit the opportunity to stay well.
Dr Atuenyi described it as a healthy development where beneficiaries were only expected to pay ten percent of the total bills incurred while receiving treatment for government to pay the rest.
He appealed to Nnewi residents to support the APGA candidate in the September 28 election to ensure that the party takes over the Council Area.
