NOA tasks Nigerians on patriotism

The Anambra State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr.Edozie Ajaegbu on Tuesday advised Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of patriotism and social responsibility.

Mr Ajaegbu who identified constant in payment of their taxes, rates and other government approved levies said Nigeria can only be great if Nigerians imbibe patriotic principles.

He handed down the advise when he led some high raking officers of the agency on familiarization tour to Awka South LGA.

The NOA boss who stated that even though the agency is federal para-ministry, it was meant to serve all the tiers of government.

He maintained that NOA has what he described as Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOS) in the seven hundred and seventy- four LGAs of the country.

Mr Ajaegbu pined that the law establishing the Agency provides for funding of NOA by the three tiers of government in the country with a view to serving the nation better.

The Transition Committee (TC) chairman for Awka South LGA, Hon Anagor ThankGod in his comment said that it is good to highlight what all the tiers of government doing through the well articulated human oriented programmes of NOA in the country, especially at the grassroots.

He described NOA as active strikers, especially when it comes to mobilization, sensitization and orientation of Nigerians to key into the developmental policies, activities and programmes of the Nigerian government at all levels.

Hon Anagor underscored the importance of embracing constructive criticism of the Government actions and inactions by the people .

He pledged his total supports to the programmes and activities of NOA in Anambra State and environs, assuring that the leadership of the council area is overtly ready to partner with the organization in carring out its statutory functions in the country.
