NSCDC reunites missing 13-year-old Anambra boy with family

The Anambra State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has reunited a 13-year-old boy, Goodluck Onwe, with his family after he went missing in Ebonyi State.

The teenager was said to have been seen wandering on the streets of Abakaliki in Ebonyi State before he was rescued on February 4, 2024, at about 1 pm by the NSCDC in Ebonyi.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Anambra State Public Relations Officer of the agency, Okadigbo Edwin, on Friday.

Edwin said an investigation revealed that the said boy lived with a relative in Abakaliki but ran away from home with the intent to return to his parents in Aguleri, Anambra State.

He said, “Subsequently, the NSCDC, Anambra State Command, was contacted by the Ebonyi State Command to trace the origin and parents of the child.

“In response, the command made a frantic effort to locate his parents for identification and collection. After a detailed verification process, the boy has been handed over to Onwe Sabastine, his father.”
