The President- General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi ,Prince Jude Osumuoh has reaffirmed his commitment to run an open and transparent administration.
Prince Osumuoh who gave this assurance in his office at Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State while chatting with some journalists ,on Wednesday, 18th of June, 2025 said he would ensure good rapport between the government ,the people and his administration ,adding that since the system has changed, it called for transparency and proper accountability .
“People must be updated on how the administration is being run. We are now at peace with everyone because they’ve seen transparency and accountability in our administration.
“Everyone is now rallying support to move Nnewi forward ,he noted.
He said he would maintain effective communication with the Executive Chairman, Nnewi North Hon.Echezona Anazodo,as well as the people and the PGs of the four quarters of Nnewi ,adding that everything happening in Nnewi must pass through the Local Government because according to him power has returned to Local Government.
Osumuoh revealed that they are working tirelessly to ease the pains of the people of Nnewi , debunking the rumour of level tax given to shop owners.
As the Chief of Staff in Nnewi North Local Government Area, he disclosed that shop owners are taxed, based on their strengths , adding that they collect relevant levies because they understand the plight of their people.
“All payments are systematically paid.There is no room for foul play in this administration .Mayor Nnewi North is compassionate ,he listens and knows what our people are passing through.
“If we see that someone cannot afford the levy ,we don’t tax the person.We have considered some based on their inability to pay the levy ” he cleared.
Speaking on the promise he made when he was inaugurated ,the PG said it would be a thing of joy to be recorded as the first President-General to build Nnewi Town Hall after decades of been without Town Hall.
He said plans have been made to make sure he commission Nnewi Town Hall within one and half years plus.
