Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, visited Francis Cardinal Arinze Secondary School, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government area of Anambra State where he said he engaged students on the importance of education as a driver of national development and personal success.
Obi on his verified ‘X’ handle on Wednesday said he spoke with the students that, global progress was increasingly shaped by ideas, knowledge, creativity and skills, rather than physical assets such as land or buildings.
According to him, individuals and nations that prioritise knowledge and education are better positioned to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
He stressed that education remains the most sustainable investment any society can make, noting that countries that recognise and harness the power of knowledge are the ones that will thrive in the future.
As a part of his support for education, he donated N10 million to the school to aid its development.
He described the gesture as a practical demonstration of his long-standing commitment to improving educational institutions across the country.
“Education is not an expense but the best investment in the future of any society, and with quality education, a better and more prosperous Nigeria is achievable,” he said.
