From Ifeoma Ejiofor
An Abuja based business man from God’s Village, Ndiakwu, Otolo-Nnewi, Prince Onwa Nwafor Orizu(Ifeluonye) has declared his interest to contest in Anambra South senatorial election billed for early next year.
The vacuum was created following the sudden death of the former senator, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah who was buried last week in his home town Nnewi, Anambra State.
Ifeluonye is the son and Custodian of late Rt Hon A. A Nwafor Orizu’s empire. He has closely followed the political journey of Sen Ifeanyi Ubah and that of his father who was the first Nigeria Senate President in the first republic.
“Sen Ubah has laid a big foundation in the Senate, and it’s a person like me who has been his follower that can continue from where he stopped so that the light he put in place can continue to shine” he noted.
Ifeluonye, a community leader and an entrepreneur of repute, has many young and old persons in his employ, noting that his passion for the race is driven by the youths from the senatorial district.
“Our late Senator Ubah was before his demise doing wonderfully well for senatorial zone, and we all saw his robust representation in the green chamber. I have decided to complete the works he started for my people ” he stressed.
The Anambra South senatorial district hopeful said that he intends to prosecute the election on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) where he has always been for many years without interruption.
He noted that his major plan for Anambra South senatorial zone is to continue where Distinguished Sen Ubah stopped and as well as enhancing the security situation in the district which has become a nightmare for residents.
Ifeluonye pointed out that health, electricity, employment, education, road construction in the zone and quality youth empowerment program would occupy the front burner in the scheme of things in the red chamber of the National Assembly if given the opportunity to serve.
“I intend to take my concern and care for Ndi Anambra South senatorial district to the next level and maximal impact with my election into the Senate.
“I have commenced consultations with the PDP officials in the seven local government areas in the senatorial zone and their response is positive,” he said.
Ifeluonye promised to give a qualitative, responsible and responsive representation to the good people of Anambra South senatorial district relying heavily on his wealth of experience.
“I assure the people of Anambra South senatorial district that I will not be a dormant senator if elected, I will not allow the light turned on by Sen Ifeanyi Ubah to die, I will give them a representation every one in the zone will be proud of, I have the credentials, I have the reach and the contacts to get the job done” he said.
