The people of Umúnze community in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State have condemned in its entirety, the inclusion of the town in the proposed Orlu State.
The Present General of the town, Engr. Onyinyechukwu Iheazor during an interactive session with journalists, said that Umunze was in total support of creation of additional State in the South -East for equity and justice to to reign.
He however said that the community condemns the act of including Umunze in the proposed Orlu State without the consent and approval of the town.
Engr Iheazor said that the position of the community cannot be otherwise since the member representing Orumba North and South in the House of Representatives, Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife is not in picture of such crucial decision.
The Umunze PG who said that his people will not be involved in the proposed Orlu State insisted that the town has no cultural and traditional affinity with Orlu people.
He however urged Umunze people to remain calm as the leadership of the Umunze Progressive Union is in touch with the member representing Orumba North and South in the green chamber of the National Assembly on a better way to handle the situation.
