The joint security patrol team in Bauchi state has killed three suspected bandits, kdnappers during a gun battle at Yankari Forest in Alkaleri LGA.
The confirmation was made by the State Police Commissioner, Auwal Musa Mohammed when he conducted the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir round to see some of the personnel injured at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Tuesday evening.
The Commissioner saying, “We got information that some bandits/kidnappers invaded Yankari Forest in Alkaleri LGA. Our personnel who were in a joint patrol traced them and there was exchange of fire between them.”
“Our men were able to neutralised three of them while others escaped with bullet wounds.
“In the process, a few of our personnel were injured, One member of the hunters with them had one of his legs completely damaged, a Civil Defense personnel and a Policeman also got injured.
“As you can see, the Governor decided to personally come here to see them and sympathise with them.This has gone a long way to show how leadership, responsible leadership is all about.
“You feel very much encouraged. Even we, that we are on the side feel that we are determined to do our best to ensure that the people of the state remain safe.”
