Police move to rescue 2 kidnapped catholic nuns in Anambra

Police-led Joint Operation has embarked on the process of rescuing two catholic nuns who were allegedly kidnapped along Ufuma Road, Orumba North LGA on Tuesday.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Anambra State command, Tochukwu Ikenga(SP) revealed this in a press statement made available to journalists on Wednesday.

Ikenga said that incident occurred in the evening of Tuesday when the nuns were returning from a Vocational service meeting in Ogboji.

The PPRO said that Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam(CP) alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP) in charge of Operations have visited the scene for on the spot assessment.

Ikenga said that the command is already working with some clues for the possible arrest of the suspects and rescue of the victims.
