Anambra State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr
Andrew Kumapayi says the Corps will embark on aggressive campaign on
Road Safety measures especially this rainy season.
Speaking to the ABS in Awka, Mr Kumapayi maintained that during such
campaigns, Motorists will be properly enlightened on the need to obey
all traffic rules and regulations in addition to reminding them of the
negative consequences of over speeding and dangerous overtakings on
the highways.
He said that though the Federal government has lifted the ban on
inter-State movement, the State Command of the Federal road Safety
Corps will embark on effective monitoring of vehicles coming into
Anambra State to ensure that both the drivers and passengers conform
with the guidelines on COVID-19 especially in ensuring that they are
carrying the stipulated number of passengers who must be on their
protective face masks.
Mr Kumapayi commended Governor Willie Obiano for all his support to
the State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps especially in the
areas of logistics which he noted is helping the Command to achieve
its set objectives in Anambra State.
The State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps cautioned
Motorists against driving with worn-out tyres, reminding them of the
need to always be on their seat belt.
