Rivers Assembly Inaugurates Newly- elected Lawmakers

The Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday inaugurated two newly elected lawmakers, Napoleon Ukalikpe and Henrietta Dinebari Loolo, following their victories in the February 21, 2026 by-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Assembly Chambers in Port Harcourt, formally ushering the lawmakers into the state legislature.

Ukalikpe represents Ahoada East State Constituency II, while Loolo represents Khana State Constituency II.

The by-elections were organised to fill existing vacancies in the House and restore full legislative representation for the affected constituencies.

Both legislators secured their seats on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

INEC had conducted the polls across the affected constituencies as part of efforts to ensure continuity in legislative business within the Rivers State House of Assembly.

With their inauguration, the Assembly is expected to resume full representation from the impacted constituencies as it continues deliberations on legislative matters affecting the state.
